Every neighborhood has them—quiet shadows under porches, pairs of glowing eyes in the bushes at night, the occasional flash of fur darting across the road. These are community cats, often called feral or stray cats, and without our help, they face a life of hardship, disease, and constant reproduction.
At Petsearch Rescue, we believe in humane, effective solutions. That’s why TNR—Trap-Neuter-Return—is at the heart of our work.
Trap-Neuter-Return is a proven, life-saving approach to managing and reducing feral cat populations:
Unlike outdated and ineffective methods like removal or euthanasia, TNR works. It ends the breeding cycle, reduces community complaints, and allows cats to live without producing more kittens who face short, harsh lives.
Without TNR, feral cat colonies grow—fast. A single unspayed female cat can produce up to 5,000 descendants in just 7 years. The result? Overcrowded shelters, preventable euthanasia, and suffering for animals and humans alike.
TNR:
We do TNR because every cat deserves a chance—even those who aren’t socialised to humans.
TNR is more than just preventing overpopulation — it’s about giving every cat the best chance at a healthier, safer life. At our rescue, we believe each life deserves dignity and compassion, so we provide extra care during recovery.
💙 Male cats are kept in post-op care for 5–7 days, and females for up to 10 days, ensuring they heal properly and safely before returning to their colony or moving on to a brighter future. During this time, they are closely observed for any complications, treated with love, and never rushed.
✨ And sometimes, something wonderful happens — a cat reveals they are not truly feral. In those moments, our dedicated volunteers step in to gently socialise them, helping them build trust and confidence so they can one day find their forever home.
If you see cats repeatedly in your neighborhood, don’t wait until kittens show up. Contact us—we can help identify whether TNR is needed.
Even indoor cats can escape and contribute to the feral population. Fixing your pets helps prevent accidental litters

We’re thrilled to share some positive news about Norman, the feral cat we’ve been monitoring with an eye condition.
This evening Monday 27-October, Norman was successfully trapped by Tilly, one of our amazing young volunteers. Tilly handled everything with calmness, confidence, and genuine care — she did an outstanding job and showed a real natural talent for animal rescue work. We’re incredibly proud of her dedication and professionalism! 🌟
On closer examination, Norman’s eye doesn’t appear quite as severe as first thought, which is very encouraging. He’s scheduled for neutering and entropion surgery tomorrow with our head vet, and we’ll be sharing updates once he’s safely through his procedures.
A huge thank-you to Tilly for her compassion and skill — your efforts truly make a difference! 💙
We’d also like to thank everyone who has already donated towards Norman’s care. 🙏
Any shortfall in his medical costs will be kindly covered by our wonderful partners at Wild Acre Rescue, who share our passion for Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) and helping adult cats. 🐱💚
If you’d like to contribute further towards Norman’s treatment, please send donations directly to Wild Acre Rescue via the link on their page or via the details below. Every bit of support helps — thank you!

We've got mom at last 👏
Some of you will remember the fire kittens—tiny survivors with incredible spirit. Their mom has been out there for years, always just out of reach. Litter after litter, she managed to stay free, and despite everything we tried, we could never quite catch her.
But today, everything changed. 💜
After years of trying, Lesley finally caught her. This brave mom, who has brought six litters into the world, will never have to go through it again. Her final litter is truly her last.
And it’s not just her—this is part of a much bigger story. We’ve trapped so many cats from this colony now that we’ve almost lost count. Each one represents an end to suffering, fewer kittens born into hardship, and a huge step toward breaking the cycle. Now, there are only around four to six cats left to go. 🐾
This moment fills us with relief, joy, and gratitude. It hasn’t been easy—financially it’s crippling at times, and emotionally it can be exhausting—but it is so worth it.
A massive thank you to Lesley for her persistence, to Petsearch Rescue , and to everyone who has stood with us on this journey. Together, we’re making a difference that will last for generations of cats to come. 💜

🌟 Safe At Last Thanks to Lesley🌟
We’re overjoyed to share some wonderful news with all of our Petsearch Rescue supporters — the last two kittens from the fire have been safely caught and are now in the loving arms of the incredible Lesley! 💕
Even though she came away with a few bruises (and had to bravely reach into a spider-filled space — despite her fear, just like me!), Lesley never hesitated. Thanks to her courage and determination, these little ones are finally safe. 🙌🐾
A trap has also been set for their clever mom, who has managed to escape several traps before. But if anyone can bring her to safety, it’s Lesley — and we’re determined to make this her last litter.
The kittens are understandably a bit spitty after everything they’ve endured, and they’re also fighting flu 😪. Among them is one little tom 🍒 who’s already showing signs of friendliness. Once he’s strong enough, he’ll be heading either to Lesley’s or HQ, then off for neutering before finding his forever home. 🏡❤️
This is the true power of community TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) at work. Your vibes, thoughts, and manifestations really helped — so please keep them coming! There are still more cats out there who need us, and together, we can keep them safe before another fire risk threatens their lives.
And for once, we’re actually thankful for the rain — it’s given us some breathing space. 🌧️🔥
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for your continued love and support — and the biggest thanks of all to our hero, Lesley. 🌟🐾
Please continue to support us in any way you can — by liking, sharing, donating, or shopping from our wishlist. We couldn’t do this without you! 💖
