At our core, rescue ethics are the values and principles that guide how we treat animals — from the moment they come into our care to the day they find their forever home. It’s about doing the right thing, even when it’s hard (or messy, or covered in fur!).
We believe true rescue is more than just saving lives — it’s about respecting each animal as an individual, with their own needs, fears, and personalities. That means thoughtful care, honest decisions, and a commitment to never cutting corners, even when resources are tight. Ethics aren’t just guidelines for us — they’re a promise.
Whether it’s a frightened stray cat, an elderly dog, or a misunderstood bunny, we believe every animal deserves love, respect, and a chance to thrive. We don’t choose animals based on how “adoptable” they are — we help the ones who need us most.
We work with our local, trusted vets to make sure every animal gets the medical care they need. From vaccines to neutering to emergency surgeries, we make sure they’re healthy before going home. Mental well-being matters too — shy cats get quiet corners, anxious dogs get patient fosters, and no animal is ever rushed through recovery.
We’re a not-for-profit rescue. Adoption fees help cover our vet and food costs, but we never let money come before a match. We screen every home to ensure it’s the right fit — not just for the humans, but for the animals too.
Part of rescue ethics is teaching others. We’re always happy to chat about proper pet care, the importance of neutering, or why adopting senior cats is secretly the best. Helping people understand animals better makes the whole world a bit kinder.
We collaborate with other small rescues, local businesses, foster carers, and animal lovers from our community who volunteer for us. Rescue is a community effort, and we’re proud to be part of a network of kind-hearted humans working together for good.
We promise to stay kind, stay honest, and always put animals first. Our rescue may be small, but our hearts are huge — and our ethical standards are even bigger.
